Towards Creative Resilience: Re-Imagining Urban Cultures, Sociabilities and Participation

Two Research Group members (Cheryl Gladu and Will Garrett-Petts) had the honor of speaking at the recent international conference on “academic research, civic society, and public policy,” hosted by the University of Coimbra, and co-organized by Research Group member Nancy Duxbury.

This was an outstanding and important international gathering, where we heard a growing consensus regarding the responsibility of universities to take on civic engagement through research. Also, a complementary theme advocating situating “arts organizations as hubs of creative action and world-building.” Inspirational!
