Tools—finding them, using them

Referencing

Zotero

Zotero is a handy, open-source (free) referencing tool that can help us store, annotate, and reference articles, websites, etc. This makes citations and the generation of bibliographies WAY easier in the long run, so it’s worth investing time upfront learning how to use a tool like this. We have created a group where we can store various forms of literature for our literature review exercise to see what others have found and avoid duplication.

To do

  1. Download Zotero.
  1. Learn about using Zotero.
  1. Zotero Word plugin
  1. Zotero browser connectors
  1. Link to our group storage for this project (you will receive an invitation).

Literature Review

We have started a document about this literature review: Literature Review Brief.docx

To do

We will take a coordinated approach to this to avoid duplication of work in the team. This is something we will sort out in our first meetings. Having a central repository of texts (Zotero) can help, but it’s easy to duplicate the effort, so we will parse out the work in a systematic way and limit duplication.

Cultural Mapping

Museum Participation

In preparation for your two-month placement with the Kamloops Museum and Archives, you will participate in a live, interactive workshop on cultural mapping. Here are some preliminary resources to help you revisit and apply that knowledge at the KMA.
